Use 1337x.to rarbg or rutracker, highly moderated public torrent trackers, because Pirate Bay has long been shut down, unmoderated, and cloned by some shady actors AND use Mullvad VPN (or any other vpn but mullvad is the best definitely) to protect your ip address while you torrent, bind it to qbittorrent and do not use utorrent anymore either because it is littered with adware.
OR if you don’t want to pay for a VPN, use direct download or streaming sites. Please y’all just take one pass through on the r/piracy or r/freemediaheckyeah mega threads to find whatever you want for free and also not infect your computer with Trojan viruses.

Honestly, in my work as a therapist, I’m seeing this A Lot, and tbh I still don’t have a satisfactory approach to it. A heavy dose of Existentialist “create your own Purpose” tempered with “when the plane’s going down, put your own oxygen mask on first”, but… yeah, there is no ethical way to work on individual emotional distress without acknowledging the systemic socioeconomic, geopolitical fuckery going on at the moment, and the sheer grief that comes with it.
I’m a guidance counselor/psychologist for teenagers and it’s getting really hard to motivate young people to work for a future they don’t believe in.
They look at ther future and see global warming, wwIII, unemployement, political unstability, poison in everything they eat, the earth and animals dying all around them.
I saw this video where someone was asking french teens in the 50s how they imagine the future would be. The war hadn’t been over for long and yet it was all positive with like peace and flying cars and such. Then they went and ask the same questions to nowadays teens and hell that was depressing. Some still had hope, but it was just that “well I hope I’ll have a nice house and maybe some kid” but there was such a hesitancy to it, like they didn’t dare to hope too much.
People mock Greta Thunberg but what they don’t get is that when she said “you stole my dreams”, it was the truth.
Young people don’t get to dream like they used to. They don’t dream anymore, they grief all that won’t be anymore and that’s just so fucking sad.
The fact that both the tweet and these reblogs are pre-pandemic makes this post even worse
in 7 years its going to be the 20s again so we can bring back swing music and the aesthetics of that era but keep modern values who’s with me

Any “Tell me about a time when…” question can be answered using the same formula called the STAR method:
Situation: briefly (in a sentence or two), set up the conflict. Task: tell what your responsibility was in the overall work environment (i.e. were you a manager?). Action: list out the steps you took to resolve the conflict. Result: give the ultimate outcome.
For instance, “tell me about a time when you had a problem with a coworker.”
Situation: At my previous job, I joined an already well-established team in my first year, and started coming into conflict with my manager over task management.
Task: As a first-year associate, I previously hadn’t had a ton of control over my own deadlines, and I assumed it would be the same on this team. However, this manager put a high priority on autonomy and was a bit more hands-off.
Action: I took the initiative to meet up with my manager and discuss what her overarching priorities for the project were, and how my pieces fit into the larger picture. From there, I set up a rough estimate of a timeline for my major tasks, and checked in with her. We were able to tweak the timeline to make sure that one piece of my project would be complete in time for the senior associate to review effectively. I then broke that timeline down even further for my own reference, and sent weekly email updates to my manager to discuss my progress and keep myself on track.
Result: Communication vastly improved, and we were able to finish the project with plenty of time to spare. I also developed a timeline template to provide to our intern, which helped her stay on track too.
